Bay Area cleans up at 2017 SXSW contest

Four Bay Area startups were picked as winners at this year’s South by Southwest Accelerator Pitch contest.

They stood out among 50 finalist companies working on products from artificial intelligence bots to apps that monitor horse health. The panel of 40 judges for the awards included Don Dodge, developer advocate at Google Inc.; venture capitalists from major VC firms such as Real Ventures, Intel Capital and Canaan Partners; and video game pioneer Richard Garriott of Austin.
