Tesla CEO Elon Musk now admits his vision of robots cranking out thousands of Model 3 cars per week in Fremont may have been too ambitious, telling CBS that excessive automation created unexpected problems on the production line.

“We had this crazy, complex network of conveyor belts….And it was not working, so we got rid of that whole thing,” Musk said.
