Fitbit expands product lineup with a new smartwatch and an activity tracker for kids

Health and fitness tracking company Fitbit doubled down on the smartwatch market and created a new offering for kids Tuesday.

The Fitbit Versa is the San Francisco-based company’s “true mass appeal, mainstream smartwatch,” in a fast-growing segment of the wearables market, Fitbit CEO James Park told CNBC. It comes after the company’s first foray into smartwatches with its Fitbit Ionic, which Park said is performing well but didn’t meet expectations.
