Google meets with GOP lawmakers, seeks to avoid EU-style data regulation

Google CEO Sundar Pichai will head to Washington, D.C., on Friday to meet with a group of Republican lawmakers behind closed doors — the latest step in the company’s ongoing effort to avoid European Union-style regulations on its business practices, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Pichai is also expected to testify to the House Judiciary Committee after the midterm election in November.
