Grubhub snarfs another S.F. food delivery startup

After dishing out hundreds of millions of dollars in acquisitions over the years, Grubhub’s latest deal is sending it to college.

The Chicago-based food delivery giant (NYSE: GRUB) is snapping up San Francisco startup Tapingo for $150 million to round out a portfolio of brands that already includes Seamless and Eat24.

The deal is expected to close before the end of this year.
