The Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) has officially named the Salesforce Transit Center — but the director of the transit agency in charge of the process has said he finds the necessity of it “distasteful.”

Salesforce has pledged to pay $110 million over 25 years for the right to have its name on 177 signs throughout the center, starting with a lump sum payment of $9.1 million when service starts next year.
