We are not even close to the housing start numbers or new home sales before the great recession of 2006. Before the bubble began with the easing of lending requirements, we drove above the historic top of 800K new home sales up to 1.4M. We haven’t even reached that 800K number yet since the market bottom of 300K. Likely if there is a recession it will be quite mild.
